Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Shabbir Ahmed Dar, and other Hurriyat leaders including Muhammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi Waseem and Ghulam Nabi War have condemned the continued illegal detention of ailing Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Aasiya Andrabi, and her associates languishing in New Delhi's Tihar jail
The leaders in their statements in Srinagar said, "Despite being ill, DeM chief's illegal detention is a glaring example of Indian government's stubbornness and frustration," Kashmir Media Service reported.
They said, "Besides Aasiya Andrabi, her husband Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo who continues to remain under arrest from the past 25 years is being deprived of proper medical treatment."The Leaders said that detaining Aasiya Andrabi along with her associates Naheeda Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi under false charges was a grave human rights violation. They urged the world human rights organizations to put pressure on India to release ailing Aasiya Andrabi and her associates without any further delay.
