IG AJK Salahuddin Mehsud Calls On President Masood Khan

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th February, 2019) Newly appointed Inspector General Police Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Salahuddin Khan Mehsud called on Sardar Masood Khan, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir at his office here at Jammu and Kashmir House.
The President congratulated Mr. Mehsud on assuming the charge of IG AJK. The Inspector General apprised the President on the overall law and order and security situation within AJK. He also highlighted the challenges faced by the AJK police. He also informed the President for introducing practical reforms for promoting the professional capabilities of the police force. The President assured his full support to the IG on issues related to the AJK police in order to provide full proof security to the citizens. He also stressed that no compromise should be made in the performance and stressed the need for an increased level of vigilance, liaison and coordination between the various police departments. Sardar Masood Khan expressed his utmost confidence in the abilities of Inspector General Mehsud and hoped that AJK police would in the future become a role model for police forces all over the country.
Earlier, AJK Director General Audit, Hassan Rana also called on the President and presented the Annual Audit Report (2018-2019), Performance Audit Report and the report on the Appropriation Accounts (2017-2018). The DG briefed the President that the Audit Department has audited over 22% of all present expenditures. Similarly, he said subsequent to the audit of 20 government departments, all 5 public sector universities and 3 medical colleges - for the period July-December - a total of Rs. 118 million have been recovered. Informing the President of various issues of the Audit Department, he said, that there has been no increase in either officers or staff at the Audit Department for the past 14 years, despite the fact that there has been a considerable increase in the volume of work. The President expressed his satisfaction over the working of the Audit Department. He said that the current Government is focusing on promoting good governance by ensuring accountability, transparency and meritocracy.
