Mobile Food Testing Labs To Be Set Up In All AJK Districts

Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to set up mobile food testing laboratories in all AJK districts to ensure supply of pure hygienic food stuff to the consumers, it was officially said
Required funds would be placed in the forthcoming new fiscal year (2019-20) budget of AJK for this purpose.
This was decided in a high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in the state's metropolis on Tuesday.
The state government also decided to ban all the substandard food items which were already prohibited by Punjab Food Authority. The meeting also declared to initiate punitive action against those involved in selling such substandard and adulterated food stuff in the State.
The meeting also decided to improve the quality of flour in AJK besides to provide required resources for its future needs.
Addressing the meeting Prime Minister Farooq Haider said that no body would be allowed to play with the lives of people by selling substandard food materials.
He directed the concerned authorities to submit a report within a week ensuring that all the banned food items would not be procured or sold in AJK.
The prime minister told the meeting that during the current financial year government paid Rs. 78 per 40 kg bag subsidy which overall cost government Rs 300 million during this fiscal year. He asserted that the standard of flour during the ensuing period was better than before.
Haider further directed the officials to ensure special checking of the quality of the commodities of daily use including edibles during the holy month of Ramazan. "Neither any one should be treated through unfair means nor be given any concession in this regard, he advised.
