Relatives Protest Against Illegal Detention

Scores of women staged a protest demonstration to press for the release of their relatives who were detained in November last year by Indian police and were later handed over to the India's National Investigation Agency (NIA)
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , the relatives of the detained youth took to the streets at Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar and blocked the road for hours.
The protesters raised slogans against handover of nine Srinagar youth to the India's NIA.
They raised slogans in favour of the release of their jailed near and dear ones.
Meanwhile, despite strict restrictions Hurriyat delegations continued to visit the residence of martyr Zeenatul islam in Sugan area of Shopian district.
Hurriyat leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, during his visit to the bereaved family in Shopian said, "The oppressive measures cannot deter the valiant people of the Jammu and Kashmir from demanding their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions." Waza urged Pakistan and India to initiate meaningful dialogue process for findingout an acceptable and permanent solution to the Kashmir dispute."He was accompanied by Nisar Ahmad, Fayaz Ahmad and Shabbir Ahmad.
