ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jan, 2018 ) :The puppet authorities in Indian occupied Kashmir have imposed restrictions in held Srinagar to prevent people from holding demonstrations against the surge in killings and other human rights violations by Indian troops in the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has called for peaceful demonstrations and complete shutdown, on Saturday, against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in the territory.
The authorities have imposed restrictions in Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Maharaj Ganj, Safakadal, Maisuma, Kralkhud and other areas of Srinagar. The authorities have also deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength in the city to prevent people from staging the protests.
Meanwhile, Indian police arrested the JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, after raiding his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar, today. The occupation authorities had placed the Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, under house arrest, yesterday, while All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, has been under continued house arrest for the past over eight years.
The police had already arrested Hurriyat leaders including Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Bilal Siddiqi and Umar Aadil Dar. The detentions are aimed at stopping the leaders from leading the demonstrations.
