Saudi Fund For Development Delegation Calls On Azad Jammu And Kashmir President

A delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) called on President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan at Kashmir House here on Monday and discussed the matters of mutual interests.

He was accompanied by Project Manager Engineer Yaser Abdul Kareem Albakri. The delegation, led by Regional Manager Operations, Engineer Abdullah Muhammad al Shoaibi apprised the President of the various projects initiated by SFD in Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Bagh.

The President was told that SFD would ensure the timely completion of the projects. The projects, he said, included the King Abdullah Campus of University of AJK, Muzaffarabad, District Complex in Rawalakot and Bagh.

The President reiterated that following the 2005 earthquake, the government of Saudi Arabia played an important role in the reconstruction in the affected cities of AJK. This, he said, was a testament to the friendly and historical relations between the people Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Azad Kashmir which were beyond conventional political and economic interests.

He thanked the people and government of Saudi Arabia for their dedication and service to the people of AJK. President Sardar Masood Khan expressed his satisfaction on the pace of work, especially on the King Abdullah Campus.

He said that over 70% of the construction had been completed and hoped that the campus would be ready by mid-2019. Informing the President of various hurdles related to execution and costs of the ongoing projects, Engr.

Abdullah requested the President that they might be facilitated to ensure the timely completion and smooth execution of the projects within the sanctioned funds. President AJK said that these matters would be settled on priority and on being informed he also thanked SDF for allocating additional funds for the projects.

The President said that funding for the furnishing of the campus might also be sanctioned.
