AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Thursday rejected the sham elections in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) and said the mock polls could not be substitute to the right to self-determination
Addressing the 53rd death anniversary of renowned Kashmir freedom movement leader Raja Haider Khan in Muzaffarabad, he said India was tarnishing the Islamic and historical cultural state of the Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir state in the occupied territory. Mosques were being razed while properties of the people were being destroyed.
He wondered as to why the international community was mum over all the brutalities of Indian forces in the bleeding vale of occupied Kashmir.
He appealed to the United Nations to play its role for safeguarding the Islamic and historical heritage.
He said the parliamentary party was united hence there was no danger to the government. Safeguarding the rights of the people and service delivery to the masses of the State was priority of his government, he added.
He said,"We need to strengthen the country and its economy." Raja Muhammad Haider Khan, he said, had lived entire his life with honesty and believed in fair means of livelihood. He urged the youth to always look for fair means of livelihood and get use to hard work for the success here and hereafter.
The prime minister expressed his resolve to get Muzaffarabad rid of drug peddles and other criminals.
Speakers paid rich tribute to the political and social life of Raja Haider Khan and said he was the name of courage, bravery and strong character. He dedicated his life for Kashmir liberation struggle and struggle for completion of Pakistan. He spent all his life while serving the suffering humanity, they added.
Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, President Haider Memorial Association Raja Muhammad Mumtaz Khan, member Kashmir council Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Mufti Kafayat Hussain Naqvi, Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate and others addressed on the occasion.
