ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2019 ) :Contrary to the outgoing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi' 'war hysteria against Pakistan,' the fact is that all the three Indian forces are facing great shortage of officers.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the Indian Army, with an authorised strength of 50,028 officers, has a deficiency of about 14 per cent at present and the Navy, with an authorised strength of 11,415, of about 13 per cent.

During the late 1990s when the authorised strength of the Army was about 42,000 officers, the shortfall had crossed 13,000. In December, the Ministry of Defence had told Parliament that the IAF, too, had a shortage of 192 officers against the sanctioned strength of 12,584.

However, the Air Force has launched its publicity campaign to attract the youth. The IAF is roping in private firms to carry out market surveys to assess the impact of publicity campaigns and also to understand the mindset, aspirations, lifestyle parameters and influences of prospective candidates.

A research framework has been drawn up by the Air Headquarters and the responses of the youth that have been exposed to the IAF's publicity and those who have not seen such campaigns would be analysed.

` Meanwhile, 300 additional companies of Indian paramilitary forces will be deployed in the southern segment spread four districts of Islamabad, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) as officials have acknowledged that all the three upcoming phases of polling in the Islamabad constituency are full of challenges.

A senior police official told media that after thorough deliberations, more than 300 locations were identified in the Islamabad district alone, "which is going to polls on Tuesday, where comprehensive and elaborate security measures will remain in place." "For southern Kashmir districts, there are more challenges on the securityfront compared to the northern or central districts of the Valley. We will ensurethat everything goes well," the official said, insisting not to be named.
