The 71st Independence Day was observed with great national zeal, fervor and enthusiasm across Azad Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country. The main function of the day was marked at President House Muzaffarabad.

MUZAFFARABAD, August 14(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2018 ) :The 71st Independence Day was observed with great national zeal, fervor and enthusiasm across Azad Jammu and Kashmir like other parts of the country. The main function of the day was marked at President House Muzaffarabad.

The AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan, AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider Khan,Deputy Speaker AJK legislative Assembly Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, Ministers, EX AJK PM and MC president Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan ,MLAs, AJK Chief Secretary Mian Waheed u Din, Inspector General police Dr. Shoiab Dustaghir, Secretaries of the AJK government, high officials of civil and Armed forces, respected � figures of the civil society, Girls guides, Boy scouts and students of different schools attended the elegant function in the premises of President House.

The day downed with the recitation of Quran and special prayers in all small and grand mosques of AJK for the tranquility, progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country besides, Pak Army give the 21 gun salutes.

The sirens were rung at 8:58 AM and one minute silence was observed across Azad Kashmir like the other parts of Pakistan.

The AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan hoisted the national flag whereas, the AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider Khan,AJK Chief Secretary Mian Waheed u Din and IGP Dr. Shoiab Dustaghir was also present on the occasion.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, a smart contingent of AJK police held a march-past and presented salute to President Masood Khan.
