War-mongering India deploys 10,000 additional troops in Kashmir

The move comes days after the Pulwama attack

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th February, 2019) The war-mongering India has decided to deploy around 10,000 additional soldiers on an urgent basis in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian authorities had ensure immediate movement of the CRPF forces in coordination with all other forces.

The Indian Home Ministry said it was "urgently" deploying 45 companies of the CRPF, 35 companies of the Border Security Force (BSF), and 10 companies each of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

The move came the night after raids were carried out in south, central and north Kashmir areas in which dozens of Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including its chief Abdul Hamid Fayaz, were detained.

Yasin Malik, chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) was also taken into custody and lodged in a police station on Friday.

The additional companies have reportedly been deployed in the valley to keep an eye on the upcoming elections, to assist the state police force in their ongoing operations and following review of security.

The move comes days after the Pulwama attack when on 14 February 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway was attacked by a vehicle-borne suicide bomber at Lethpora in the Pulwama district of India-Ocuupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The attack resulted in the death of more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed. A local youth named Adil Ahmed Dar was identified as the attacker.

Indian media and politicians have since been blaming Pakistan for the attack without any evidence.
India blamed Pakistan for harboring and protecting terrorists, accusing the country of having a "direct hand" in the incident.

Pakistan has, in turn, rejected the allegations of its involvement in the attack and said that this was New Delhi's strategy to divert international attention from human rights violations taking place in the Kashmir region.
