Abu Dhabi School Of Government Announces New Partnership

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 21st Apr, 2019) The Abu Dhabi School of Government, ADSG, and IMD, a business school for executive education, have announced a new partnership that will offer executive development programmes to senior government employees in Abu Dhabi.

The programmes will target senior leaders to develop their understanding of key trends affecting civil service organisations, as well as their strategic thinking and leadership skills.

The partnership agreement was signed by Professor Jean-François Manzoni, President of IMD, and Dr. Mohamed Rashed Al Hameli, Director-General of the ADSG.

"The programmes will equip leaders of Abu Dhabi government authorities with the correct skills they need in the future. In our search for the best international school that will train the leaders of our government entities, we found our best partner in IMD," Dr. Al Hameli said.

"We will cover major future challenges as part of our curriculum, and analyse the post-oil economy that will affect our nation and the wider region. Education is at the forefront of the UAE’s efforts to establish the correct policies and deliver fundamental changes," he added.

Both sides will work together to offer world-class development programmes to executive directors, directors-general, department heads and senior managers.

"As a key partner in supporting the launch of the ADSG, we are celebrating a milestone of IMD in the middle East. The school will be a centre of excellence, which will help develop Abu Dhabi’s human talent, as well as its infrastructure and overall economy," Manzoni said.

"Our goal at IMD is to train executives and transform organisations, and we look forward to utilising our expertise in these areas to help Abu Dhabi achieve its future vision. We also look forward to learning a lot from this partnership, as it will be a very stimulating experience," he added.

The ADSG is responsible for overseeing and planning the learning and professional development of all Abu Dhabi government employees, and is part of the emirate’s vision to create a sustainable knowledge-based economy.
