ADM serves 750 warnings, offences for unauthorised adverts

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 15th Oct, 2018) The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, ADM, has conducted a series of clean-up campaigns removing unauthorised posters and advertisements across the emirate's urban landscape. The campaigns have resulted in the issuance of 717 warnings, and 33 fines in 2018.

In a press statement, the municipality explained that advertisements can only be put up following licences obtained from relevant authorities. It urged the public to contribute towards preserving Abu Dhabi's cleanliness and preserving its urban landscape.

According to ADM, the number of warnings and fines issued in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to 214, with 220 and 283 issued in the second and third quarters respectively.

The Municipality explained that fines range from AED1,000 to AED10,000 as per the General Appearance Law No. 02 of 2012 and the 'Preservation of Public Places Regulation'.

The Abu Dhabi City Municipality continues to encourage members of the to comply with the requirements for installing posters and advertisements on the streets and obtain permits needed so as to avoid being penalised.
