ADNOC Fertilisers organises agricultural workshop

AL AIN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 12th Dec, 2018) ADNOC Fertilisers, an affiliate of ADNOC Group, hosted at Qasr Al Muwaiji in Al Ain city the 3rd Agricultural Field workshop in cooperation with the Arab Fertiliser Association and Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation, SABIC.

The event, organised for the first time in the UAE, aims to showcase ADNOC Fertilizers’ commitment to the community by educating local farmers and university students on the usage of fertilisers, modern farming technologies and pesticides.

The two-day event includes a series of activities, lectures and workshops on the safe usage of fertilisers, pesticides and modern agricultural technologies. The event will also highlight the success stories in the field of agriculture to encourage and motive local farmers to increase production and improve quality.

Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, ADNOC Fertilizers Acting CEO, said, "We are proud to host this important agricultural event during the Year of Zayed which comes in line with the vision of our late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to develop the agricultural sector and to provide support to local farmers. We are pleased to collaborate with the Arab Fertilizer Association and SABIC in organising this event which provides a platform to exchange views and ideas about the latest technologies and innovation in the agriculture sector.

The Agriculture Field Event aims to educate agricultural labour and university students to raise awareness on the safe and effective use of fertilisers and pesticides. The event will also disseminate the technical recommendations on the optimum use of fertilisers and pesticides to overcome obstacles facing farmers while also strengthening the relationship between fertiliser manufacturers and the Arab Fertilizer Association. The social responsibility of fertiliser manufacturers towards the agricultural sector will also be tackled during the event by promoting communication between experts and local and regional specialists participating in the event.

Several institutions including the Zayed Higher Organisation, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Abu Dhabi Farmers’ Services Centre, The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture, Al Foah Dates, in addition to students majoring in Agriculture from UAE University and local farmers, attended the event.
