Ahmed Bin Tahnoun Receives Chairman Of National Military Service Of Kuwaiti Ministry Of Defence

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 03rd Oct, 2018) Pilot Staff Major General Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, today received, in his office at the authority’s headquarters, Staff Major General Mohammad Al Khedr, Chairman of the National Military Service Authority of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence.
During the meeting, which was attended by several senior officers and officials, both sides discussed their joint military cooperation in the area of national service.
Major General Al Nahyan affirmed that the visit of the Kuwaiti delegation reflects the strong ties between both countries, as well as their joint fate and deep historic relations, in light of the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait. He also pointed out that the political relations between the UAE and Kuwait are witnessing considerable development, which is reflected by their mutual coordination in regional and international forums on topics of mutual interest.
He added that the visit is in line with the authority’s strategic plan, as well as its efforts to review and learn about the latest updates, which will help develop the country’s national service programme and promote the exchange knowledge and expertise with other countries.
The meeting witnessed a presentation on the authority’s expertise and accomplishments, as well as a discussion on its leading curriculum and quality academic and training programmes.
Major General Al Khedr said that the goal of the visit is to exchange expertise and adopt strategies related to the national service sector, as well as to discuss leading awareness, health and educational programmes, which will help prepare and train future generations who are capable of defending their nation and protecting its soil.
He added that the visit reflects the close ties and solid relations between Kuwait and the UAE, which have brought both countries together as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC.
Al Khedr also highlighted the directives of Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Kuwaiti Minister of Defence, and Lt. General Mohammad Al Khedr, Kuwaiti Army Chief of Staff, to raise the combat efficiency of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and improve the capabilities and performance of Kuwait’s youth and members of its national service, their national duty and social responsibility.
Major General Al Khedr was accompanied during his four-day visit by Staff Colonel Yousef Buqambar, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Military Office at the Kuwait Embassy in the UAE, and a military delegation that included Staff Colonel Fawzei Al Shemmari and Staff Lt. Colonel Ali Al Muhareb.
