GENEVA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 24th Sep, 2018) A delegation from the Al-Ghufran, one of Qatar's largest tribes, organised Monday an exhibition in the Broken Chair courtyard here in front of the UN HQ, to expose the human rights violations committed by the Qatari regime against them.
The exhibition comes as part of a wider move by the tribe to reclaim their rights on the sidelines of the 39th session of the UN Human Rights Council, uncovering the human rights abuses perpetrated against the tribe by the Qatari authorities.
"The international community must stop turning a blind eye to the human rights violations committed against Al-Ghufran tribe by the Qatari regime, said Mohamed Saleh al-Ghafrani, a member of the oppressed tribe who participated in the exhibition.
He added that the international community needs to document and expose all the violations committed against the tribe, noting that the abuses made by the Qatari regime break all international norms, treaties and conventions.
