Al Jarwan, Mexican Foreign Secretary Discuss Promoting Tolerance, Peace

MEXICO CITY, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 17th Mar, 2019) Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, and Marcelo Luis Ebrard, Mexican Foreign Secretary, have discussed ways to further develop cooperation with the Mexican government sector.

This came during a meeting between the two sides at the office of the Mexican foreign secretary in the presence of Ahmed Hatem Al Menhali, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Mexican States.

Al Jarwan reviewed the objectives of the Council and its principles, while giving an overview of the main elements of the strategic framework. He pointed out that the Council has signed many agreements with the United Nations and other countries in the world, expressing its readiness to cooperate with all the entities and individuals interested in promoting tolerance and peace.

He commended the Mexican experience in managing various peace issues, which led to stability and development.

For his part, the Mexican Foreign Secretary stressed that the principles of tolerance and peace are firmly established concepts of the Mexican government and people, and are part of its foreign policy. He pledged to support the work and projects of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace.

The two sides agreed on the need to document and maintain communication and develop a bilateral agenda for the implementation of projects of tolerance and peace on the ground through mutual cooperation.
