Al Shinkeeti Appointed UAE NOC Secretary-General

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 24th Jun, 2018) H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee, has appointed Brigadier Talal Ahmed Al Shinkeeti as Secretary-General of the UAE National Olympic Committee, NOC, pending the convening of the next NOC board Meeting, and has tasked Al Shinkeeti to officially assume the role of the Secretary-General.
Al Shinkeeti is the incumbent Assistant Director-General of Airports in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Sports Games Sector at the Al Ahli Youth Club. He has diverse experience in sports and administration, and was honoured with the Dubai Award for Excellent Government Performance, among others.
Al Shinkeeti described his appointment as the NOC Secretary-General as a duty that would enable him to serve the UAE sports sector. He pledged to make work to raise the profile of the nation in all sporting events and competitions.
He also expressed gratitude to Sheikh Ahmed for the valuable trust placed in him, which he considers a source of pride and honour.
"The future is abundant with key sporting events, including the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia this August, and the 3rd Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October. These important sports gatherings constitute a great opportunity to raise the image of the UAE on the global sports map. It also offers an opportunity to benefit from numerous experiences and practices. We perceive the importance of building a joint sports strategy with the General Authority of Sport and sports councils, with regards to the competitive sports games in which the UAE sports establishments believe that it will be possible to obtain Olympic medals, as part of a concerted national objective," Al Shinkeeti added.
