Amal Al Qubaisi receives ‘Emirati-Jordanian Parliamentary Fraternity Committee’

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 17th Apr, 2019) Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, yesterday received the "Emirati-Jordanian Parliamentary Fraternity Committee," led by Zaid Al Shawabkeh, Member of the Jordanian Parliament, at the FNC’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Al Qubaisi stated that the UAE and Jordan have a significant historic legacy of social, economic, political, cultural and educational ties while noting that their relationship is a model to follow of understanding and cooperation, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Abdullah II, King of Jordan.

She also stressed the vital role of the committee in reinforcing the ties between the two countries, as well as the importance of strengthening their cooperation and coordination, and exchanging expertise between the two parliaments.

Al Qubaisi then praised Jordan’s success in hosting the 29th Arab Parliamentary Union and the "25th Executive Committee and Associating Committees.

Al Shawabkeh highlighted the deep bilateral ties between the leadership and peoples of the two countries while praising the role of Dr. Al Qubaisi in all international and parliamentary events, where she has proven that Arab women are capable of assuming the highest positions.

The "Committee of Friendships with Arab Parliaments" of the FNC, led by Khalid Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, also received the delegation from the Emirati-Jordanian Parliamentary Fraternity Committee, at the headquarters of the FNC General Secretariat in Dubai.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways of reinforcing the relations between the two countries, exchanging expertise in many areas, especially in parliamentary work, as well as the efforts of the two countries to support the Arab world’s leading issue, which is the Palestinian cause. They also discussed the efforts to combat terrorism and promote tolerance, as well as the issue of the three Iranian-occupied Emirati islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Moussa.
