Congress On Otorhinolaryngology And Communication Disorders Opened In Dubai

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 16th Jan, 2019) Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, today inaugurated the 9th Emirates Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Communication Disorders Congress, in Dubai.
Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of the DHA, the congress joined forces with the German ENT Society to present an international outlook that covers all aspects of otorhinolaryngology, audiology and communication disorders.
The three-day event, which will conclude on 18th January, aims to bring together a world-class panel of expert speakers to share experiences and discuss breakthroughs in various specialist fields.
During his opening speech, Al Qutami said that the close connection between otorhinolaryngology and chronic diseases; especially respiratory diseases; poses serious challenges to the international medical community.
"These implications highlight the key role played by scientists, physicians, and other stakeholders to effectively eliminate these impacts on human productivity.
Realising that, DHA set out to implement a comprehensive plan to prevent all communicable and non-communicable diseases, by continuously updating diagnosis and treatment tools and professional practices, and allowing specialists access to the equipment and technologies to help prevent such diseases. The authority strives to innovate new treatments, within the framework of a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem," he added.
Al Qutami said the conference is an opportunity to discuss the latest global developments, and health issues related to key sensory, hearing, and communication disorders.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hussain Abdulrahman Al Rand, Congress’s President, said a range of topics on the latest technologies and research trends in the field will be discussed during the event. He added that the congress will also be accompanied by a specialized otorhinolaryngology exhibition.
