MEXICO CITY, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 21st Jan, 2019) The death toll in a powerful explosion at a fuel pipeline in the central Mexican state of Hidalgo has climbed to 85, officials said on Sunday.

According to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur, DPA, Hidalgo Governor Omar Fayad said that at least 72 others were being treated at various hospitals.

Many of the victims were so severely burned in the ensuing fireball that they could not be immediately identified.

The blast occurred on Friday near Tlahuelilpan, about 85 kilometres north of Mexico City, when about 800 people were filling fuel containers leaking from a main pipeline.
