DNO wins stake in 18 new Norwegian offshore oil exploration blocks

Oslo-listed DNO ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary DNO Norge AS has been awarded participation in 18 exploration licences, of which five are operatorships, under Norway's Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2018 licencing round

OSLO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 16th Jan, 2019) Oslo-listed DNO ASA, the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary DNO Norge AS has been awarded participation in 18 exploration licences, of which five are operatorships, under Norway's Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2018 licencing round.

Of the 18 licences, nine are in the North Sea, two in the Norwegian Sea and seven in the Barents Sea.

DNO Norge will be the operator of five of the blocks.

Prior to the announcement, DNO held interests in 22 licences offshore Norway and the United Kingdom, of which 21 are on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and one on the UK Continental Shelf.

DNO, whose largest shareholder is RAK Petroleum, holds stakes in onshore and offshore licenses at various stages of exploration, development and production in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Norway, the United Kingdom and Yemen.
