DoT Promotes World Road Congress To Take Place In Abu Dhabi During TRB In Washington

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 17th Jan, 2019) The Department of Transport, DoT, in Abu Dhabi is participating at the Transport Research board, TRB, in Washington, to exchange knowledge and information with transport entities and have effective communications means with private sectors, experts and specialists in the transport infrastructure field.
TRB, which is concluding today, welcomed more than 13,000 transportation professionals such as policy makers, administrators, practitioners, researchers and representatives of government.
The meeting was organised under the theme, 'Transportation for a Smart, Sustainable and Equitable Future', and covered different topics in the transportation field with more than 5,000 presentations during 800 sessions and workshops discussed transport-related issues.
The Transport Department also promoted for the World Road Congress – 2019, the event that will be hosted between 6th-9th October in Abu Dhabi, under the theme 'Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies'. DoT has successfully won the right to host the renowned event, in its continuous efforts to support the UAE’s contribution to road development worldwide and as part of its preparations to host major and international transport events.
The US-based TRB provides innovative, research-based solutions to improve transportation. TRB is a programme unit of the National academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, a non-profit organisation that provides independent, objective, and interdisciplinary solutions.
