Dubai Hosts Global Network Of Director Institutes Executive Meeting

The Global Network of Director Institutes, GNDI, held its executive meeting in Dubai for the first time recently
DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 20th Mar, 2019) The Global Network of Director Institutes, GNDI, held its executive meeting in Dubai for the first time recently. The gathering was hosted by the GCC Board Directors Institute, GCC BDI, a non profit organisation that helps board directors of organisations, from family-owned businesses to listed companies, acquire the expertise and tools for effective governance.
The event convened 30 CEOs and senior executives from 19 GNDI member institutes from around the world, including the GCC region, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Switzerland, the EU, Russia, South Africa, Mauritius, Argentina, Brazil, Pakistan, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
The executive meeting aimed to strengthen relationships among the world’s leading director organisations and discuss corporate governance and directorship trends.
Jane Valls, Executive Director of GCC BDI, said, "GCC BDI has been a member of the Global Network of Director Institutes for five years. We are pleased to have hosted the GNDI’s annual meetings in Dubai, enhancing collaboration amongst director organisations, not only within the region but internationally as well.
GCC BDI places a lot of emphasis on effective practice sharing as well as interaction with regional and international counterparts, which further helps to promote advocacy and sound governance practices."
In turn, Angela Cherrington, Chair of Global Network of Director Institutes, said, "We thank GCC BDI for hosting our executive meeting in Dubai that provided an important platform for knowledge exchange. It is both a privilege and a pleasure to have so many institutes of directors in attendance, forming such a distinguished group of organisations."
GNDI is an international entity that focuses on sharing expertise in directorship and corporate governance. The network aims to strengthen the voice of directors in advocating for good governance policies and practices, as well as educate key influencers on matters relating to boardroom leadership.
