Emirati Runner 217km Away From Reaching Makkah

Dr. Khaled Jamal Al-Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, has just 217 more kilometres to finish his Abu Dhabi–Makkah Run. He started his initiative on 1st February, from Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 28th Feb, 2019) Dr. Khaled Jamal Al-Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, has just 217 more kilometres to finish his Abu Dhabi–Makkah Run. He started his initiative on 1st February, from Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

On Tuesday, 26th February, which is the 26th day into the challenge, Dr. Khaled ran 70 kilometres. He passed Moya village, on his way to Oteif village, with unusual determination, despite his severe fatigue and the harsh weather conditions.

Dr. Khalid has continued to exert big efforts during the recent days, despite facing obstacles with unbreakable determination and relentless will.

Through his unprecedented initiative, he has shown that nothing is impossible in life and that his run – which was once considered impossible for some – is becoming a reality. Dr. Khalid said that as he gets closer and closer to achieving his goal, his spirits increase and he is trying with all his strength to reach Makkah as per the planned date or even before that date.

He completed 345 kilometres in the UAE territories, before passing the Albatha Border Crossing Post into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on his way to Makkah in a feat never before attempted, during which he will run and walk continuously for 2,070 kilometres.
