ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 22nd Apr, 2019) Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise the closing ceremony of the 17th cycle of Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA - 2018 – 2019) at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, said that SKEA, which was founded in 1999, is one of the first excellence awards launched in the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular.
He added that SKEA is not just an award but a complete programme of corporate performance development, which increases competitive capabilities of all corporations operating in Abu Dhabi and the UAE by adopting the principles and concepts of comprehensive quality and corporate excellence and by applying proper standards and measuring financial and operational performance indicators of companies.
"Our goal is to develop the business environment and increase its efficiency and the efficiency of the private sector in general as well as to shape an excellent human cadre with all its skills, knowledge and conduct, in addition to developing the principles and concepts of excellence within the public and private entities on the map of quality and global excellence," Al Mheiri said.
More than 50 companies representing all economic sectors in the UAE and abroad are participating in the 17 cycle of SKEA, including the industrial, healthcare, tourism, services, trade, construction, educational, financial, and vocational sectors.
Moreover, over 230 assessors trained on best international practices and standards are taking part in this year’s award. It is worth noting that the number of Emirati assessors has increased tremendously, and this means inching forward towards realising one of the objectives of SKEA and that is Emiratising excellence experts.
