Fujairah CP Inaugurates Brooge's Second Phase Storage Facility At Fujairah Oil Industry Zone

FUJAIRAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 22nd Sep, 2021) H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, affirmed the emirate’s significant role as a hub for petroleum storage facilities and delivery of world-class marine services for the oil industry in alignment with the UAE's strategy for sustainable energy development.

Sheikh Mohammed was speaking after inaugurating the 600,000 cubic metres (cu m) second phase storage facility of Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investment Co. at the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ). The total storage capacity is now around 1 million cu m (6.3 million barrels).

He said that, under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, the emirate has become a key centre for energy resources, the oil industry and storage. Its strategic location and advanced infrastructure have made it an attractive investment destination and a leader in the oil and petrochemical industries.

Brooge executives briefed Sheikh Mohammed about the company's investment and expansion plans in oil refining and storage in the emirate.

Timipre Sylva, Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources; Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, OPEC Secretary-General; Sharif Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Ahmed Mohammed Al Kaabi, Assistant Under-Secretary of Petroleum, Gas and Mineral Resources Affairs at Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, were present at the event.

Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhany, Director of Fujairah’s Emiri Court; Salem Al Zahmi, Director of the Fujairah Crown Prince’s Court; Salem Al Afkham, Director of FOIZ, and several oil storage specialists also attended the inauguration ceremony.
