The militias threatened to kidnap and murder Al Qaoud, and terrorised him and his family and concerned intellectuals in Yemen and the Arab region.

Al Sayegh added that everyone should enjoy their freedom of expression, as granted by laws and national constitutions, as well as conventions ratified by the United Nations, UN, and the Security Council, which ensure freedom of expression for all people, as long as they are not carrying arms and have not terrorised civilians or threatened the safety of public and private establishments.
