IAEA Organises International Conference To Strengthen Nuclear Security Capability

The International Conference on the Safety of Radioactive Materials, with more than 700 participants from 100 countries, began today in Vienna to discuss ways to strengthen the control and protection of radioactive materials and to support the national capabilities of Member States in ​​nuclear security.

VIENNA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 03rd Dec, 2018) The International Conference on the Safety of Radioactive Materials, with more than 700 participants from 100 countries, began today in Vienna to discuss ways to strengthen the control and protection of radioactive materials and to support the national capabilities of Member States in ​​nuclear security.

The participants in the conference - organised by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at its headquarters until Friday - will discuss difficulties of securing radioactive materials, enhance cooperation and coordination between the prevention and detection sectors, analyse approaches to the security of radioactive material and increase the effectiveness of procedures for securing and protecting radioactive materials to prevent their leakage from the regulatory system, as well as the review of good practices.
