MBRCGI International Advisory Council Explores Future Trends In Innovation

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 31st Oct, 2018) The International Advisory Council of the Mohammad bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, MBRCGI, discussed the progress and developments in the latest innovations in the UAE.
The council also explored other future global trends in a bid to support the UAE government’s efforts to enhance the country’s position on the global government innovation map.
The meeting was attended by seven of the world’s leading experts in innovation and future design, with the goal of enriching the experience of the MBRCGI, brainstorming innovative ideas and examining their potential to support government operations in various sectors.
Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant to the Director-General for Strategy and Innovation at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, said that MBRCGI’s International Advisory Council is ideally poised to provide advice and suggestions. It supports the centre’s efforts to disseminate knowledge and transform it into a work ethic within government entities, turning them into testbeds for innovative ideas, thereby enhancing the UAE’s position as a global platform for innovation.
Al Hashimi said that the advisory council discussed the most important global recommendations and future plans to support innovation, and ways to enhance the role of the MBRCGI in implementing the goals of the National Strategy for Advanced Innovation.
The other members of the Innovation Council who attended the meeting were Christian Bason, CEO of the Danish Design Centre; Ping Fu, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at 3D Systems; Ilse Treurnicht is the former CEO of MaRS Discovery District; and Bruno Lanvin, Executive Director of Global Indices at INSEAD.
The meeting was also attended by the MBRCGI team, along with Paul Bennett, IDEO's Chief Creative Officer; Geoff Mulgan, Chief Executive of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, NESTA, and Jorrit De Jong, Academic Director of the Innovations in Government at Harvard University.
The participants reviewed the latest and most creative innovations around the world and addressed radical innovation, the Global Innovation Index, and mechanisms for employing global expertise in supporting government operations and finding solutions to challenges at the level of innovation and government work. They also came out with recommendations and underlined the UAE government’s leading position as a global model for innovation, as well as topics related to MBRCGI’s efforts to help government entities innovate and transform ideas into workable and implementable initiatives.
