Ministry Of Infrastructure Development, Saudi Ministry Of Transport Discuss Exchanging Expertise, Best Practices

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 24th Mar, 2019) The Ministry of Infrastructure Development discussed, with the Saudi Ministry of Transport, exchanging expertise and best practices to achieve the aspirations of their countries and peoples.
Their discussion is part of the four-day meetings of the Emirati-Saudi Coordination Council, which are being held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in Dubai and will include visits to the sites of their joint infrastructure projects.
Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, highlighted the importance of such meetings in exchanging knowledge and reviewing best practices which will serve both parties, enhance their cooperation in the area of infrastructure development, and enable them to benefit from their experiences.
He also noted the support of the UAE’s wise leadership for the country’s infrastructure, as well as various projects and initiatives that will guarantee stability and quality of life, while pointing out that the directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, instructing the Ministry of Infrastructure Development to implement infrastructure projects valued at AED12 billion, is evidence of the support of the wise leadership for the country’s citizens.
He then stressed the country’s keenness to enhance its cooperation with local, regional and international organisations to achieve overall prominence.
Al Nuaimi added that the ministry is working, as per the directives of the wise leadership, on implementing infrastructure projects according to the highest international standards, with the aim of attaining a prestigious stature for the country and preserving its gains.
The first day of the council’s meetings witnessed discussions on asset and property management systems, road maintenance contracts, road project management systems and traffic safety standards.
The council’s working team, which includes the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Road and Transport Authority in Dubai, the Road and Transport Authority in Sharjah and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, explained to the Saudi delegation the UAE’s future strategy to be among the world’s best countries by 2021, and its efforts to work towards the UAE Centennial 2071.
The Saudi delegation also reviewed the ministry’s accomplishments in the area of infrastructure and its efforts to achieve sustainability.
