ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 20th Mar, 2019) Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has said that Mother's Day celebrations highlights women's efforts to raise children, forming educated, strong future generations.
In a speech marking the occasion, Al Falasi said, "My role model is H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, the Mother of the UAE."
Al Falasi expressed her love and respect for Sheikha Fatima’s achievements for women and children in the UAE and around the world, as well as her pride for Her Highness' national and global initiatives, her keenness to promote love and giving, and her efforts to serve the sons and daughters of the nation and spread peace and prosperity.
"We can clearly see her valuable contributions to community development, whether to education, health, women’s development, supporting mothers and children, and local and international volunteer and development work," Al Falasi further added while noting that clinics and hospitals are being established in Africa and Asia to treat women, children and elderly people, reflecting the giving of the Mother of the UAE and her keenness to help others who are suffering from disease or hunger.
Al Falasi also pointed out that Sheikha Fatima has instructed the council to organise programmes, courses and executive plans for the National Strategies for Motherhood and Childhood.
"On Mother's Day, we congratulate ourselves, in the UAE, for the prominent international position of the Mother of the UAE, and express our peoples’ appreciation for her successful development initiatives around the world," she concluded.
