‘Nabadat’ initiative to conduct 100 birth deformities operations in Egypt

The medical team of the "Nabadat" initiative, which is being implemented by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment,MBRCHE, in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, has begun conducting surgeries on Egyptian children to treat birth deformities, as part of its second campaign in Egypt, which will continue until 25th September and conduct 100 operations.

DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 18th Sep, 2018) The medical team of the "Nabadat" initiative, which is being implemented by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment,MBRCHE, in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, has begun conducting surgeries on Egyptian children to treat birth deformities, as part of its second campaign in Egypt, which will continue until 25th September and conduct 100 operations.

The medical team, which includes 30 medical and administrative personnel, arrived in Cairo yesterday and headed directly to the University Hospital in Kafr El Sheikh in northern Egypt along the Nile Delta, to begin this humanitarian mission and conduct complex surgical operations on Egyptian children, such as open-heart surgery and therapeutic catheter to treat birth deformities and various heart diseases.

Ibrahim BuMelha, Advisor to the Ruler of Dubai for Humanitarian and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the board of Trustees of the Establishment, said that the campaign is the initiative’s second in Egypt, and the establishment is covering the entire cost of the operations while providing the necessary logistical support to ensure the success of the team, which includes specially selected medical staff, in cooperation with the DHA.

BuMelha explained that the campaign aims to treat 100 Egyptian children with birth deformities from underprivileged backgrounds who cannot pay for expensive treatment, such as operations. The patients will not pay anything throughout the course of their treatment, he added.

Nabadat, which means heartbeat in Arabic, is an initiative launched by the MBRCHE in collaboration with the DHA to provide free medical assistance, surgery and post-surgical care to children whose parents cannot afford to pay for treatment of congenital heart diseases.
