Pakistan and the European Union have agreed to a new Strategic Engagement Plan to build a strong partnership in diverse fields
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 25th Mar, 2019) Pakistan and the European Union have agreed to a new Strategic Engagement Plan to build a strong partnership in diverse fields.
According to Radio Pakistan, the understanding came at the fourth round of Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and the European Union in Islamabad on Monday.
Pakistani side at the dialogue was led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi while the EU by its Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini.
Qureshi said that the partnership plan will be officially signed in Brussels and will lay the groundwork for the promising future "between his country and the European Union.
" He added that he briefed the EU delegation on the steps taken by Pakistan to meet the obligations of the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force. He expressed to the delegation Pakistan's concern on growing hatred against islam (Islamophobia).
In turn, Ms. Mogherini said that the EU supports the new strategic partnership plan and Pakistan's efforts in fighting terrorism. She also appreciated Pakistan's efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan.
