SAI Hosts Meeting Of Heads Of Local Financial Control Authorities

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 24th Sep, 2018) The State Audit Institution, SAI, hosted, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, a coordination meeting of the heads of local government financial control authorities, as part of their ongoing coordination efforts.

The meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Hareb bin Saeed Al Ameemi, Chairman of SAI and President of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions, INTOSAI, discussed ways of strengthening the role of the country’s financial control authorities, and highlighted their key role in protecting public funds, improving government services, and supporting development projects, through ensuring that the funds and financial allocations are used appropriately.

The meeting discussed various topics related to building capacities, training auditors, increasing the Emiratisation of the auditing profession in the public sector, and discussing ways of improving the academic level of university graduates who specialise accounting and auditing.

The meeting also addressed ways of benefitting from information technology in the implementation of financial control operations and the analysis of data, including the use of artificial intelligence, AI, in auditing.

The meeting was attended by Hamad Mohammed Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, President of the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority; Abdullah Mohammed Ghabbash, Director-General of the Financial Audit Authority in Dubai; Ali Hussain Al Mazrou, Director-General of the Financial Control Department in Sharjah; Waleed Khalil Al Hashemi, Director-General of the Financial Control Authority in Ajman, and Ali Rashid Al Dhanhany, Director-General of the Financial Control Office in Fujairah.
