Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council initiatives discussed

RIYADH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 24th Mar, 2019) A workshop for the coordinators of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council took place in Riyadh, with the attendance of over 70 representatives of government authorities from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The workshop aims to monitor the progress of the council’s projects and initiatives and prepare for the next meeting of the council’s executive committee, which will again be held in April in the Saudi capital.

Participants discussed the implementation of joint strategic projects and cooperation between both parties in the areas of production, industry, government services, housing, education, the media and military industries.

Mohamed Al Tuwaijri, Saudi Minister of Economy and Planning and Head of the Executive Committee, highlighted the importance of such meetings and workshops to reinforce the council’s plans and ensure its initiatives succeed, as well as the work of its coordinators in monitoring its activities and implementing its ideas, initiatives and projects.

The workshop, which is part of the joint economic, development and military vision between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as their efforts to strengthen their bilateral cooperation and discuss joint communication and media mechanisms related to relevant initiatives and ways of developing a joint media organisation, will reflect the council’s vision and promote its decisions.

It also saw discussions on media cooperation between the two countries, as well as new mechanisms for keeping pace with the latest developments, conveying the council’s strategic message, several topics of mutual concern, and creating an organised manual that will serve as the approved reference for officials from the council’s joint teams and committees.

The council is an ideal model of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and was founded as part of an agreement in May 2016, upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
