Sharjah Police Science Academy, 25 Years Of Excellence

SHARJAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 22nd Sep, 2021) Since its establishment in 1996, the Sharjah Police Science academy has proven its dedication to achieving leadership in education, scientific research and police and security training at the regional level, driven by a vision to efficiently meet the security and police needs of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE community.
In an exclusive interview with the Emirates news Agency (WAM) marking the Academy's silver jubilee, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and Vice Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Directors, said the Academy’ establishment in Sharjah’s University City was ordered by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to complement the work that other universities were doing to advance education.
He added that, since its establishment, the Academy has worked to keep pace with all educational requirements and obtain accreditations from the Ministry of Higher Education, and it is continuing to follow this developmental approach.
Speaking of strides made by the Academy, Major General Al Shamsi noted that its latest accomplishment was the launch of the Smart Shooting Range, a first of its kind at the level of police and security academies, colleges and institutes.
He expressed his appreciation of the support provided by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, and members of the Academy’s board of directors, to develop the Academy.
For his part, Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director-General of the Sharjah Police Science Academy, said that the Academy has made many remarkable achievements over the course of 25 years, including the graduation of 852 student officers.
He explained that the Sharjah Police Science Academy Award for Scientific Research, which aims to prepare scientific research in relevant fields, supports research recommendations that address social and security issues in the UAE.
Brigadier General Dr. Al Othmani pointed out that the Academy has won many administrative, scientific and research awards, including awards in three quality management systems, in addition to other local and international awards.
