Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, stated that culture was always in the mind of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and did not ever leave his thoughts, and the Ministry of Culture was among the first ministries that was established after the rise of the Union.

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 11th Dec, 2018) Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, stated that culture was always in the mind of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and did not ever leave his thoughts, and the Ministry of Culture was among the first ministries that was established after the rise of the Union.

She made this statement during a lecture yesterday, which was organised by the Majlis Affairs Office of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court at the Mohammed Khalaf Majlis in Al Karama, Abu Dhabi, under the title, "How Can We Build a Strong Cultural Sector," and was administered by media professional Amira Mohammed.

The lecture was attended by Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Cultural Programmes and Heritage Festivals Committee – Abu Dhabi; Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Interior; Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, Vice Chairman of the Committee; Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Director of the Events and Communication Department of the Committee; Sultan Al Amimi, Director of the poetry academy in the Committee, as well as several cultured people, writers, poets, artists, media professionals, and local people.

During the lecture, Al Kaabi said that Sheikh Zayed established the foundations of a modern country and always aimed to introduce the world to the UAE’s culture, civilisation and arts. He also invested in culture, as he considered it as key to developing and enlightening minds, so he established the Abu Dhabi National Theatre National, and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in 1981, and other cultural institutions, he added.

"The first step to creating a strong cultural sector is to build national capabilities which are capable of creating excellent cultural products, and because youth are the foundation and pillar of culture, the Ministry of Culture and Community Development launched an integrated policy and roadmap to support those who are talented, develop their capabilities and polish their skills, as they are the nation’s infinite sustainable resource with creativity in the minds. Discovering them is a national mission, and the UAE has an immense reserve of talents, and its officials are responsible for unleashing these young energies and ensuring their success," she said in conclusion.
