Sheikha Fatima Witnesses Graduation Of Leading Female Students

The "Mother of the UAE," H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), today attended the graduation of 553 leading students who attained their degrees with honours, which was held in the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi Several Sheikhas, female ministers and female leaders attended the graduation of the 38th group of female students from UAE University, UAEU, the 28th batch of the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, and the 17th group from Zayed University
ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 21st Mar, 2019) The "Mother of the UAE," H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), today attended the graduation of 553 leading students who attained their degrees with honours, which was held in the National Theatre in Abu Dhabi Several Sheikhas, female ministers and female leaders attended the graduation of the 38th group of female students from UAE University, UAEU, the 28th batch of the Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, and the 17th group from Zayed University.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and the recital of verses from the Holy Quran, before the start of the welcoming speech. Sheikha Fatima directed a speech to the graduates, which was given on her behalf by Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State, which stated, "I am pleased to congratulate every Emirati mother and other mothers from around the world, especially the mothers of the righteous martyrs of the nation, who are the greatest examples of giving and loyalty to the nation, as well as the mothers of people of determination, who are ideal examples of the Emirati woman.
"Today’s celebration is an expression of our happiness with our country’s academic institutions, which is highlighted by your excellence and has become part of our sustainable development. I congratulate this year’s female graduates during the Year of Tolerance, the year of immortal values, supreme meanings and implications for the present and future," Sheikha Fatima added.
She further said that the wise leadership has invested in creative minds, as they believe in the importance of teaching people expertise and skills, whose pillars were established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and are being followed today by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and his brothers, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, who have prioritised education and science.
The visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, represent the strategic goals of the UAE Vision 2021 to achieve the country’s advancement, by educating future generations, she said.
In his statement during the graduation, Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills, thanked Sheikha Fatima for supporting Emirati women, which has enabled them to excel in all areas of science and employment. He also congratulated the graduates for their pioneering and excellence, as well as for representing the journey of Emirati women, which is a source of pride and honour for the entire community.
He added that the success of the graduates affirms that the role of Emirati women and their specialisations have changed, but they will remain the developers of the future, as Emirati women represent 70 percent of the all higher education graduates, and 46 percent of science, technology, engineering and mathematics graduates.
Student Sheikha Mariam bint Rashid bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan presented the speech for the graduates, which stated, "It is a great honour to stand before you today, on behalf of my colleagues, the graduates, with feelings of pride and honour, and with the trust given to us by our precious mother, the Mother of the UAE."
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates presented a gift to Sheikha Fatima, as in expression of their appreciation for her, which was a painting with the phrase, "You have glories in history, and homes in our hearts," written on it.
