Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, and top ministerial officials have launched a joint project between the two ministries, titled "In the footsteps of Zayed".

AL AIN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 19th Nov, 2018) Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, and top ministerial officials have launched a joint project between the two ministries, titled "In the footsteps of Zayed".

The project aims to strengthen the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, acceptance, respect and positive communication between students of all grades and levels across public and private schools, as well as adopt plans and initiatives to promote communication between these schools.

The launch took place during the visit of Sheikh Nahyan to the Ahmed bin Zayed School in Al Ain yesterday, where he was received by Al Hammadi, ministerial top officials, students parents, and community representatives.

Sheikh Nahyan gave a speech at the school’s theatre that addressed the importance of promoting tolerance in schools, especially among students, while affirming that children at this stage of their lives are ready to accept the values of tolerance.

He then toured, accompanied by Al Hammadi, an exhibition held at the school.

Sheikh Nahyan explained that the UAE’s tolerance is an integral part of its soft power, and is based on active and honest dialogue between everyone, to exchange information, listen respectfully to the ideas and opinions of others, and co-exist in friendliness, brotherliness, love and peace.

The Supreme Joint Committee between the ministries of tolerance and education also held its first meeting, in the presence of Sheikh Nahyan and Al Hammadi, at the school, to launch the project and promote cooperation between the country’s public and private schools, as well as to create extra-curricular student activities conducive to strengthening the values of tolerance, cooperation, coexistence, acceptance and respect for other cultures. The project’s implementation will begin during the current semester in Abu Dhabi and will progress to Dubai, Fujairah and the country’s other emirates.
