HODEIDAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 13th Nov, 2018) The Iranian-backed Houthi militias burnt and bombed the '22nd May Hospital' in Hodeidah.
The militias attacked the hospital while fleeing in a desperate attempt to cover its successive defeats in Hodeidah, as well as revealing its scorched earth policy and its act of targeting civilians.
From inside the hospital, the Emirates news Agency, WAM, observed the destruction to its interior.
A soldier from the Arab Coalition Forces said that the militias, as well as burning and destroying parts of the hospital, planted many Iranian-made mines in the city’s entrances and major roads, which resulted in the destruction of its entire infrastructure.
Fighters from the Yemeni National Resistance, who are working with the Joint Yemeni Resistance, said that the destruction of infrastructure and government and public facilities is a systematic tactic used by the militias to prolong the suffering of the Yemeni people.
One of the resistance fighters highlighted their ongoing efforts to liberate the entire country while preserving the lives of innocent civilians who were being used by the militias as human shields.
He added that the militias burnt the hospital as an act of revenge for their successive losses while pointing out that the militias looted medical equipment and the hospital’s contents.
Another national resistance fighter described the destruction by the militias, stating, "The Houthi militias passed through here."
He added that the militias are following a scorched earth policy in Hodeidah, and they have bombed houses and buildings after their successive defeats and the loss of their bases.
The militias recently stormed the hospital, brought its medical staff and patients to its roof as human shields, and turned it into a military base.
