Supreme Council For Motherhood Delegation Visits Socotra

A delegation from the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, yesterday, visited the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in the Socotra Archipelago, Yemen, to review the medical services it offers to local people, especially to mothers and children
SOCOTRA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 16th Apr, 2019) A delegation from the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, yesterday, visited the Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in the Socotra Archipelago, Yemen, to review the medical services it offers to local people, especially to mothers and children.
Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Council, said that the delegation’s visit, which was conducted as per the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), aimed to offer educational support to local mothers and children, and raise the awareness of mothers about the importance of raising their children in a healthy way, as well as to help them follow a healthy lifestyle and protect them before and after birth.
During its visit, the delegation met with the hospital’s administration and listened to an explanation about its services. It also toured the hospital’s wards, met with its medical staff, and viewed its medical equipment.
The delegation also organised an awareness lecture for the people of Qaria, which was held at the Qaria Medical Centre and focussed on general motherhood and childhood health and appropriate care methods.
The lecture witnessed the participation of local mothers and children and the delegation distributed gifts to the children, as well as guide booklets to help mothers care for themselves and their children.
Qaria is the first area to be visited by the delegation, which will visit other areas in the Socotra Archipelago, as per the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to help the archipelago’s people and improve their living standards, through launching awareness campaigns and implementing initiatives that aim to care for local families and children.
The hospital was established by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
