Two news agencies join News Agencies Tolerance Charter

Two news agencies have announcement their joining of the "News Agencies Tolerance Charter", an initiative by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, to spread values of tolerance, reinforce the culture of positive thinking and promote openness, cooperation and tolerance among peoples

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 18th Feb, 2019) Two news agencies have announcement their joining of the "News Agencies Tolerance Charter", an initiative by the Emirates News Agency, WAM, to spread values of tolerance, reinforce the culture of positive thinking and promote openness, cooperation and tolerance among peoples.

WAM signed the "News Agencies Tolerance Charter" with 25 news agencies on the sidelines of the World Government Summit, held from 10th to 12th February in Dubai.

The new signatories are: the Union of OIC News Agencies and the National Iraqi News Agency, NINA.

Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Executive Director of WAM, said: ''Following the signing of the Charter at the World Government Summit, several news agencies have approached us to join the Charter in order to participate in efforts aimed at promoting media contents of tolerance in Arab and international media and spotting light on the media role in realising values tolerance and peaceful coexistence among peoples.

'' ''The door is still open for those interested in joining the Charter, which seeks to exchange news, photographs and video footages as well as any other media contents and materials concerning tolerance,'' he added.
