UAE Ambassador attends Kazakhstan interim President swearing-in ceremony

ASTANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 21st Mar, 2019) UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan Dr. Mohammed Ahmed bin Sultan Al Jaber has attended a ceremony of transfer of powers from Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament, who was sworn in as interim president of the country until the presidential elections.

Under Kazakhstan's constitution, the senate chairman assumes presidential powers in the event of the president's resignation or death.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Government, parliamentarians, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Kazakhstan
