UAE Ambassador Inspects Projects Of Islamic Orphanage In Lebanon

Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, accompanied by a delegation from the embassy, reviewed the services provided by the Social Welfare Institution’s Islamic orphanage in Al Tariq Al Jadida, Beirut, especially those supported by the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, which include the restoration of an electricity plant and providing computers and electrical equipment

BEIRUT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 26th Feb, 2019) Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, accompanied by a delegation from the embassy, reviewed the services provided by the Social Welfare Institution’s Islamic orphanage in Al Tariq Al Jadida, Beirut, especially those supported by the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, which include the restoration of an electricity plant and providing computers and electrical equipment.

During the visit, Al Shamsi met with former minister Khalid Qabbani, Director-General of the Orphanage, and the orphanage’s officials. Al Shamsi presented 250 gifts to the orphanage’s children, along with blankets and food from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

"The charitable services provided by the orphanage and the contributions of good people are helping those in need, enabling them and strengthening their abilities," Al Shamsi said while stressing that the UAE aims to serve humanity without discrimination, and pointing out that the aim of the visit to the orphanage is to listen and identify its needs.

"These awards are in line with the UAE’s leadership and are supported by the foundation, which has taught us to always assist those in need," he added while praising Emirati donors for assisting the foundation’s beneficiaries, whose numbers are increasing daily.

Al Shamsi also pointed out that several visits were organised to the "Esh Al Asafir Orphanage" for Armenians and the "Bayt Al Yatim Al-Durzi Orphanage" for the Druze people.

Qabbani praised the UAE’s generosity while pointing out that it aims to improve the living conditions and ensure the dignity of individuals. He also expressed his gratitude and love between the UAE and Lebanon and the unity of their peoples and is proud of the UAE’s support for Lebanon during its difficult times.

He added that the UAE does not differentiate between regions and has a higher purpose while thanking Al Shamsi for supporting children.
