UAE Hosts Meeting For Upcoming ‘Arab International Conference On Mineral Resources’

The UAE hosted the first Organising Committee meeting of the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, as well as an associated exhibition, in the Blue Diamond Hotel in Fujairah, in preparation for the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, which will take place in 2020
FUJAIRAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 18th Mar, 2019) The UAE hosted the first Organising Committee meeting of the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, as well as an associated exhibition, in the Blue Diamond Hotel in Fujairah, in preparation for the 16th Arab International Conference on Mineral Resources, which will take place in 2020.
The conference takes place every two years, organised by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation, in cooperation with relevant Arab ministries and organisations. It aims to encourage knowledge exchange and expertise between Aran and foreign experts and international institutions working in the mining sector, activating bilateral cooperation in the field.
Adel Saqr, Director-General of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation, chaired the meeting. In attendance were, Mohammed Saif Al Afkham, Chairman of the Fujairah Foundation for Mineral Resources, and Khalid Al Hosny, Director of the Geology and Mineral Resources Administration of the Ministry of Energy and Industry in the UAE.
Saqr said that developing the mining industry in the Arab world requires coordinated efforts, to improve the utilisation of mining resources in the region.
Al Afkham said that the organisation is studying the requirements for accelerating the development of the mineral resources industry in the Arab region, and for achieving cooperation that will advance the Arab mining industry.
Commenting on the event, Ali Qasim, Director-General of the Fujairah Foundation for Mineral Resources, said that hosting the first meeting of the committee in Fujairah highlights the strategic importance of the emirate to the mining sector.
Al Hosny added that the UAE has been organising and hosting special events related to all sectors, and is welcoming the conference in 2020, which will coincide with the launch of Expo 2020 Dubai.
