UAE shines in management and governance for temporary contractual cross-country relocation

Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, has emphasised that the UAE model is distinguished by its management and governance of temporary contractual cross-country relocation.

MARRAKECH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 14th Dec, 2018) Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, has emphasised that the UAE model is distinguished by its management and governance of temporary contractual cross-country relocation.

He pointed out that the UAE model was able to maximise the development impact of the transfer of labour, both, on the destination countries and the origin countries in parallel with safeguarding labour rights, ensuring transparency through national labour market legislation, promoting regional and international partnerships, the active participation in international organisations and processes, and supporting relevant international conventions.

These remarks were made during his meetings with International Labour Organisation Director-General, Guy Ryder, on the sidelines of the United Nations Intergovernmental Conference on Global Migration that ended on Wednesday in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

The meetings, held separately, reviewed the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation with international organisations connected with labour and human rights issues.

He reiterated the importance of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM), which plays a major role in the governance of the temporary contractual work cycle, especially the agreement that allows countries to freely choose the means of implementation to achieve their objectives in accordance with the specificity of the labour mobility challenges experienced in each region of the world.

In this context, he pointed to the role of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue in developing bilateral and multilateral partnerships between the governments of the sending and receiving countries in the region of Asia in protecting their rights and improving their working conditions for their benefit and that of these countries.
