ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 18th Feb, 2019) The US-UAE defence partnership is "most beneficial" for stability, security and peace in the region, according to top US diplomat in the UAE.
Steven C. Bondy, Charge d’Affaires, US Embassy in the UAE also said that 117 American companies which are displaying their wares at the International Defence Exhibition, IDEX, and Naval Defence, NAVDEX, 2019, will hope "to pursue, negotiate and conclude" contracts during their participation in this edition of the defence expo.
Speaking to the Emirates news Agency, WAM, at the American Pavilion - the largest at IDEX 2019 - he said, "We are delighted with the defence partnership that the United States has with the United Arab Emirates."
"We find this to be one of the most beneficial things we can do in this country, work between our two governments to bring stability, security and peace to the region," Bondy added.
The UAE and the United States share a common resolve to preserve security and stability in the Gulf.
US homeland security is tied directly to the UAE’s role as a source of that security and stability, according to the UAE Embassy in the US website.
The UAE is only one of three countries and the only Arab nation who have participated with the US in six coalition actions over the last 20 years, deploying forces and providing assistance in Afghanistan, Libya, Somalia, Bosnia-Kosovo, the 1990 Gulf War and the fight against Daesh. The UAE also provides ongoing and essential support for US forces, and contributes to efforts to fight terrorism and extremism, while working to increase stability and peace in the region.
Organised by ADNEC in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and UAE Armed Forces, IDEX and NAVDEX showcase the latest defence developments featuring technology trends from the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence and the vital role of these technologies in advancing the defence sector and its relevant industries.
