ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 20th May, 2019) Participants at the 10th Zayed Humanitarian Work Forum praised the humanitarian efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.
They also praised Sheikha Fatima’s support for various volunteer programmes concerning women and children, and for promoting specialist volunteering, community giving and social tolerance, through the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Global Humanitarian Campaign and related mobile clinics and field hospitals.
The participants of the forum, held under the slogan, "Tolerance in the Footsteps of Zayed," at the Sheikh Zayed Hall in the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, said that the H.H. Sheikha Fatima Volunteering Programme, launched under the slogan, "We are all Mother Fatima," has achieved many successes over three years in different countries, benefitting thousands of patients, especially women and children.
They also sent a letter thanking President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his role in promoting national humanitarian work, which was begun by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as well as another letter thanking Sheikha Fatima for her role in empowering the youth and women in all areas of volunteering and humanitarian giving, by launching the programme.
The organising committee praised the efforts of the GWU, headed by Noura Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the GWU, to support the country’s volunteering movement, as well as women and children. It also lauded the efforts of the volunteer leaders who won the Zayed Humanitarian Giving Awards and the UAE Humanitarian Work Medal.
The forum recommended the launch of initiatives to empower the Emirati youth in areas of local and international humanitarian work, with the aim of creating a new generation of Emirati humanitarian leaders, through partnerships between the public, private and non-profit sectors, in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa to make 2019 the Year of Tolerance, and coinciding with the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
