PNCA DG attends Silk Road International Film Festival's closing ceremony

BEIJING, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Oct, 2018 ) :The Chinese and foreign filmmakers from various countries along the Silk Road including Pakistan gathered at the closing ceremony for the 5th Silk Road International Film Festival held at the Shaanxi Opera House in Xi'an, China.

Director General, Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Syed Jamal Shah represented Pakistan at the festival, from October 8 to 13, taking movies as a medium to build a cultural bridge connecting countries along the Silk Road.

Under the theme "New Era, New Silk Road and New Vision", the festival set up seven thematic units, which included forums, screenings, and film reviews.

A total of 565 movies from 68 countries and regions competed for this year's Golden Silk Road Media Awards and Trophies.

As the origin of the ancient Silk Road, the city of Xi'an is part of a revival of the rich Silk Road culture.

As Chinese films have spanned over 100 years, the future of the industry largely entails the re-creation of the Silk Road.

The fifth anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative coincided with the film festival of the same name.

The closing ceremony and the awarding ceremony included an array of Silk Road customs, highlighting the customs and scenery along the Silk Road and Xi'an's modern style.

At the same time, international movie star Jackie Chan attended the closing ceremony as an image ambassador of the film festival.
