10 Illegal Housing Societies Disbanded In Faisalabad

Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sealed 10 illegal housing societies in various parts of the district during the last week.
These societies include Arbab Garden Chak No 100-JB, Azafi Abadi Mohallah Fazal Abad, Azafi Abadi Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Azafi Abadi Chak No 100-JB, Azafi Abadi Chak No 6-JB, Murabba No 71-72 Ghulam Muhammad Abad-II Killa No 10-11, Haq Baho Town Phase-V Sitiana Road, Gulshan-e-Ali Sitiana Road, Saad Garden and Hasan Villas.
A spokesman for the FDA said on Tuesday that under the Local Government Ordinance 2001 and Development of Citizens Act 1976, all housing scheme developers are bound to seek permission from the FDA before developing any residential scheme or starting constructions.
However, developers of these housing schemes started constructions without getting prior permission from the FDA.
An FDA Town Planning Directorate team had also demolished offices and boundary walls of illegal societies, the spokesman added.
